Hello Spring!

This weekend spring really did make an appearance so I arranged to meet Sara in the common on Sunday morning whilst the boys went off to play football. I decided to bring my camera along to capture the first signs of spring in Streatham Common. We have a stunning magnolia tree right outside our front door which has started to blossom, making it the perfect entrance into a spring day.

Sara accidentally walked into the muddiest patch of grass on her way to meet me, I think it's safe to say that this might be the end of her converse. We sat upon a bright purple picnic blanket to avoid any more accidents and spent the morning catching up on absolutely everything including my hen do - just four months to go.

By the time we went our separate ways the common was full of families enjoying the sunshine, children queuing up for ice creams and even a kite or two practicing for the Streatham Common Kite Day on the 6th April.  

By the time the evening came, a stunning sunset finished off a gorgeous day over Streatham Common station - red sky at night shepherd's delight. What's your favourite way to spend a spring day? Let me know in the comments below. x

Visiting The National History Museum

I do love living just twenty minutes from central London as I can pop on a train and start exploring on any day of the week. David and I try to see as much of London as possible but with our family and friends still in the home counties it's actually very rare that we have the time. On Saturday we decided to visit the National History Museum, somewhere neither of us had been since we were very little.

The queue for the dinosaurs was really long so we thought we'd leave this to last and start off in the Darwin Centre where this horrifying female mosquito caught my eye - luckily it's 28 times lifesize. 

We then moved onto the mammal zone as sadly the wildlife garden doesn't open till April. It's incredible how many different types of mammals they have from tiny shrews to gigantic blue whales. 

We made our way to the red area which is full of information about earthquakes and volcanoes, having both studied Geography we both found this very interesting and the live stimulation of an earthquake in a Japanasese Supermarket was definitely worth the trip. Plus we got 5/5 on the tectonic quiz - amazing what you still remember from school.

Next up was the dinosaurs and we definitely saved the best to last, the animated T-Rex was incredible with teeth 15cm long.

#lovedenim with Debenhams

With our wedding less than 6 months away every penny is going to the big day. I'm a little bit naughty and do find myself falling into Topshop on the way home from work but David's a lot more disciplined so I've love to spoil him to a Debenhams Personal Shopper Experience. Plus a little treat for me is always nice too.

We spent the night putting together these mood boards for the Debenhams Love Denim Competition, and it's fair to say he really got into it with murmurs of "I like this" and "ooo that one's nice too". We started with looking through their great selection of jeans, although unsurprisingly he opted for two pairs of Levi's - he already owns a few.

Outfit One - casual outfit for a gig

He went for the dark navy 501 Broken raw jeans (1) and knew straight away that he wanted white converse hi top trainers (4). I absolutely love the red check shirt (2) and I'd like to think it would be a nice sunny day so he could roll the sleeves up. Underneath is a simple yet classic white round neck t-shirt (3). I love how casual yet stylish this look is and would be more than happy to accompany him to any gig wearing this outfit.

I absolutely LOVE dinner date nights. I've definitely become my mum and get a lot of enjoyment in somebody else cooking for me, but the thing I enjoy the most is dressing up. David always makes an effort which I think is reflected in his choice below, so I will always try to make sure I have time to do my hair, pick a pretty dress and slip on my heels.

Outfit Two- Dinner date

David loves a skinny jean and will normally opt for black if we are going out for dinner. These Levi's Moonshine jeans (1) were the obvious choice and went well with the black H by Hudson patent panel shoes (5) that he already owns and loves. Next had to be a blazer, they are a staple part of his wardrobe and he quickly selected this one by Hammond & Co (3), although it is relatively formal he picked a simple white shirt with a cutaway collar by Jeff Banks (2). To complete the look he selected a black belt (6) and a red polka dot pocket square to add some colour. (4) Personally this is my favourite of the two.
