Ice Skating and Cake

On Sunday we made our way to Alexandra Palace for a spot of ice skating to celebrate Rico's 25th. I absolutely love skating and am incredibly tempted to book a figure skating lesson, perhaps it can be a New Year resolution. Every year David and I generally try to go at least once during the Christmas season, we've so far been to Somerset House, National History Museum, Winter Wonderland and Central Park in New York. We had a lot of fun on the ice and unsurprisingly fitted in a few photos.

One of my favourite photos with my younger sisters, this is our reaction to a little girl falling over right in front of us. Jackie is the pro and carries on smiling.
We then went for a lovely lunch followed by the best chocolate cake, the same one we had at our engagement party. Happy Birthday Rico - I hope 2014 is a special one. x

A trip to Norfolk

New Year Eve is often quite disappointing. Nightclubs charge ridiculous entry fees, drinks are overpriced and they are always rammed full. Sophie came up with the idea of booking some cottages and going away for a few days. We all jumped and said yes!

She found three idyllic cottages in Norfolk, Oxnead House Holiday Cottages. It took two trains and a two hour car journey to get there but it was totally worth it. We picked up the keys and made our way into The Dairy, our home for the next three nights.

The best thing about this trip is that I got to spend a lot of quality time with the girls. After leaving school where we spent all day together it becomes incredibly rare to spend more than an afternoon or evening together.
The first night we made our way to a local pub, the White Horse. As a large party we pre-ordered our food and could even bring Banks the dog. The staff were incredibly friendly and even gave us a lift home at the end of the night. There was a huge open fire and a pool table to keep the boys entertained as us girls chatted away.
